WJCC schools release reopening options

Williamsburg-James City County schools division has released a comprehensive plan of options regarding the reopening of schools called Return to Learn: Forward WJCC Schools. It can be accessed here.

This multi-tiered plan details remote, blended and on-site avenues by which the school division is considering reopening. All options have been developed under guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the health department and the Virginia Department of Education.

The school division says it has yet to decide which path it will take to reopen. That decision is due by Aug. 5.

Regardless of which option is chosen to start the school year — the division says plans are subject to change based on current circumstances — one option will allow students to choose 100-percent virtual learning for the entire year.

Parents who wish to take advantage of this option must notify the school division by July 24 and complete this registration form

Families are asked to check the Return to Learn website often for posted updates.
