Ford’s Colony homes to be part of Williamsburg historic garden tour

For the first time, three Ford’s Colony homes will be featured on tour during the annual Williamsburg Historic Garden Week presented by the Williamsburg Garden Club.

On Tuesday, April 30, the homes in the Southport section of Ford’s Colony — 120 Southport, 116 Hurlston and 219 Hurlston — will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other featured homes and gardens on the tour are in Colonial Williamsburg. The Williamsburg Garden Club has presented its tour of private gardens and living quarters for 90 years.

Tickets for the tour are $40 in advance. They can be purchased online or at the Ford’s Colony Community Services building. Tickets the day of the tour are $50 and are available at tour headquarters at Ford’s Colony Country Club.

The tour involves more than 200 volunteers, many of whom are members of Ford’s Colony’s Garden Club, who help present the featured homes, direct traffic, assist with flowers and serve as hosts and hostesses.
