For the first time, three Ford’s Colony homes will be featured on tour during the annual Williamsburg Historic Garden Week presented by the Williamsburg Garden Club.
On Tuesday, April 30, the homes in the Southport section of Ford’s Colony — 120 Southport, 116 Hurlston and 219 Hurlston — will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other featured homes and gardens on the tour are in Colonial Williamsburg. The Williamsburg Garden Club has presented its tour of private gardens and living quarters for 90 years.
Tickets for the tour are $40 in advance. They can be purchased online or at the Ford’s Colony Community Services building. Tickets the day of the tour are $50 and are available at tour headquarters at Ford’s Colony Country Club.
The tour involves more than 200 volunteers, many of whom are members of Ford’s Colony’s Garden Club, who help present the featured homes, direct traffic, assist with flowers and serve as hosts and hostesses.
Ford’s Colony has proudly announced the addition of a new instructor, Christine Lebiedz, to its golf academy staff.

At Ford’s Colony, Liebiedz will focus on creating game-improvement clinics for players of all abilities.
She will meet and greet golfers, with complimentary coffee and donuts, at Ford’s Colony Tuesday the 23rd through Thursday the 25th at 8:45 each morning next to the practice green.
David Brashear, the interim director of the Muscarelle Museum of Art at The College of William and Mary, will address Ford’s Colony’s Friends and Neighbors group Friday, April 5 at 6:45 p.m. at the swim and tennis club.
Brashear will discuss the museum’s plans, including construction of a new building.
The Muscarelle is a nearby treasure. Just in the last few years, in fact, the Muscarelle has featured the first-ever loan exhibition in the United States of Sandro Botticelli paintings, and stunning 500-year-old drawings by Leonardo da Vinci.
